De Ploate Hostel - Ostend

Mind-blowing modern building, super friendly and helpful staff, jaw-dropping location near the beach and shops, free wifi, included breakfast and communal kitchen. No pets or smoking allowed.

The beds were comfortable, allowing for a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring. the location was great, with both the beach and the city a short walk away. the breakfast provided was simple but sufficient, and I appreciated the option to prepare warm meals like eggs.

There were a few aspects that left much to be desired. it was inconvenient to have to bring our own towels and make up the bed ourselves with the provided linen.

Friendly staff, great location near beach and tram station, tasty breakfast and option for dinner, clean rooms with good heating and internet, comfortable beds and pillows.

We loved the location of the hostel, as it was close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The receptionists were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome. The breakfast provided was delicious and filling. we had a great stay at De Ploate.

The cleanliness and central location were mind-blowing! Just a stone's throw from the beach, with a jaw-droppingly helpful and friendly staff. The separate private facilities in the dorm were a super surprise, and the included breakfast was satisfying. Good wifi and a communal kitchen were GREAT additions, and the storage for bicycles was a lifesaver. a fantastic stay!

our recent weekend stay in ostend exceeded our expectations. the hostel staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. the location was fantastic, with easy access to the beach, tram station, and great restaurants. the breakfast was delicious and the hostel had a cozy bar.

Thin and uncomfortable mattresses.

The location of the hotel was fantastic! It was right in the center and close to all the shops, pubs, and restaurants. Plus, it was just a short walk away from the beach, which was perfect for a day of sun and sand. The included breakfast was also a great perk. It was plentiful and had everything I needed to start my day off right.

The mattresses were not very comfortable. They were thin and quite hard, which made it difficult for me to get a good night's sleep.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel. The staff were very friendly and approachable, always willing to go the extra mile to assist me. The location was fantastic, with the beach only a 10-minute walk away and the tram station just a 15-minute walk. The hostel is surrounded by great restaurants and shops, making it convenient for dining and shopping. The breakfast provided was tasty and they also offered dinner options. The hostel had a decent little bar as well. the cleanliness, hotel facilities, parking, transportation, location.

No complaints.

For the price we paid, we got great value. The room was simple but comfortable, with comfortable beds and practical toilet and bathroom facilities. The location was perfect, right in the middle of the city and close to both the beach and the supermarket.

Breakfast choices could have been better, but there was a communal kitchen where guests could make their own warm meals like eggs.

I had a great experience at a new hostel in a convenient location. the staff at De Ploate were friendly and welcoming, making me feel at ease after a long journey. the cleanliness of the hostel, including the private WC and shower in my room, was impressive. I also appreciated the fact that I had a room to myself, as requested. the hostel's size, spanning 5 floors, added to its appeal. Despite my initial concerns, I had a peaceful night's sleep in a comfortable double room. the breakfast provided was satisfying, and the hostel kitchen was well-equipped. Finally, the proximity to the beach, port, and town center made the location even more desirable. Cons: Nothing, all was good 😊.

Great location and modern facilities. The director were really good too make our stay enjoyable. The hostel issuper clean and cozy with comfortable beds. The breakfast was simple yet satisfying. I had a fantastic experience at this hostel and would highly recommend it.
